The main purpose of the Mingachevir research and production complex for the reproduction and rearing of fish of “AZ VARVARA” LLC is to protect the environment, increase the number of sturgeons inhabiting in the Caspian Sea and the Kura River for millions of years that are on the verge of extinction, and providing the population of the Azerbaijan Republic with fresh, healthy fish and seafood.
Guided by the execution of the “State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan” of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. ILHAM ALIYEV, and the execution of the development of the non-oil sector, the construction and establishment of the research and production sphere for sturgeon reproduction and rearing was started in Mingachevir and the complex meeting international standards and technologies having no analogues was created in 2008.
